Teen Wheel Throwing Bootcamp (4-day)

Unleash Your Inner Potter: Teen Wheel Throwing Bootcamp at Pottery Lane!

Calling all creative teens! Are you ready to transform a lump of clay into something amazing? Join us for an intensive Teen Wheel Throwing Bootcamp at Pottery Lane this summer!

This 4-day program, running from 10am to 2pm each day, is designed to take your pottery skills to the next level. Whether you’re a complete beginner or have some experience, our experienced instructors will guide you through everything you need to know.

Here’s what you’ll learn:

  • Centering Techniques: Master the art of centering clay on the wheel, the foundation for all thrown pottery.
  • Throwing Basics: Learn various throwing techniques to create cylinders, bowls, cups, and more!
  • Advanced Skills: Explore more challenging shapes, experiment with different thicknesses, and refine your throwing control.
  • Trimming & Finishing: Learn how to clean up your creations with trimming tools and refine their final form.
  • Handle & Decoration Magic: Discover how to create and attach beautiful handles for your pieces. We’ll also explore carving, underglaze painting, and other surface decoration techniques to personalize your work.

By the end of this bootcamp, you’ll have a collection of unique pottery pieces that showcase your newfound skills and creativity!

Please note: Participants will need to bring their own lunch each day.

All fired clay creations will be available for pick-up approximately 2 weeks after the camp.

Our teaching staff is passionate about pottery and bringing the best experience to our studio potters. We consider ourselves co-learners and co-teachers as we can all learn from each other. We just want everyone to have fun and improve their practices.
